Dave Bilbrough June 2010 Update - These last few months
have
seen me majoring on the "Tales of a Troubadour" presentation around the country, which I am glad
to say has
gone tremendously well. Click here to see a random selection of feedback
we've collated: http://davebilbrough.com/news/images/images/toatbackground.jpg In a few weeks time I shall be taking it across
'the pond' to my friends in the USA. It'll be interesting to see how it
translates. Although worship events are very much a mainstay of my
focus,
Tales of a Troubadour represents for me an increased desire to present a
fresh take on Jesus to the wider world. To that end I have been
delighted to see many situations using it as an opportunity to invite
friends
who are unfamiliar with 'church' as we typically know
it.
The coming
months will see
me touring with the All Soul's Orchestra in Pat's homeland of Scotland, a
trip over to the USA with my friends for the House2House Conference as
well
as reconnecting with Hosanna Church in Tennessee. Plans are already
underway for a UK tour with Andy Frost of Share Jesus International,
interspersed with Grace Conferences with my good friends Paul-Anderson
Walsh and
Steve McVey. |

Hymns Ancient Yet Modern - Daniel Kutschera
Daniel Kutschera has taken some old and sometimes familiar songs and composed new melodies and effectively redefining and often opens the words of these songs to fresh understanding. With the assistance of John Wright singing on these songs and the excellent work and arrangements of the dB Studios and Dan Bowater, and this is a really credible Christian Music EP.
We gave this CD to several people we trust and asked for their comments, that included ‘I love it and play it over and over again’, ‘I like the song ‘Grace’ I heard the words so different and meaningful in this song’, to ‘why not an album with more songs’.
Daniel Kutschera says “"Although there's definitely a place for simply-worded Christian worship songs, too many sadly lack lyrical depth. At the same time, parts of the church are losing out by discarding old hymns with dated tunes or inaccessible words. In many cases a new tune, musical arrangement or an update of the words (without dumbing down their meaning) can help bring the song back to life. This site is intended to showcase many examples of such hymns resurrected for use today. It's good to see many of today's leading Christian songwriters such as Stuart Townend, Chris Bowater and Paul Oakley taking a similar approach." Visit their website click here
TRE LUCI - a trio of classically and cathedral trained vocalists - in their debut album of some of our best loved contemporary worship songs. The arrangements are simple and uncomplicated and provide a setting for the the rich quality of these young voices. Rachel, Naomi and Bryony met at Lincoln Cathedral as choristers and pupils at the Lincoln Cathedral School and have continued their friendship and singing whilst now studying atUniversity. They have performed in front of the Queen, appeared on Songs of Praise, BBC Radio 3 and toured extensively here in the UK and throughout Europe. The album was produced at dB Studios in Lincoln, produced by Howard Williams and engineered and mixed by Dan Bowater. View their Myspace
